About IPA

Indian Plumbing Association, IPA is the only apex body of plumbing professionals in India.

Over the last 31 years IPA is persistently working towards Redefining Plumbing standards in India with the active support of its 28 Chapters pan India.

This is being accomplished by increasing awareness among the Indian Building fraternity about the importance of Correct Plumbing Practices through IPA publications, events, conferences & water conservation missions.

IPA has 7000+ members, across the country from every segment of the building industry including PHE, MEP Consultants, Architects, Real Estate Developers, Manufacturers, Contractors, Traders and Academicians.

Since early 2001, IPA has been publishing India's only monthly plumbing magazine, the official journal of Indian Plumbing industry - Indian Plumbing Today (IPT). The magazine carries Technical articles and Case Studies on Plumbing, Water and Sanitation.

IPA in alliance with International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), has published plumbing codes

I SAVE WATER Mission

I SAVE WATER Mission was launched in 2019, saved 133 Crore Litres of water per year by distributing 15,000 Aerators FREE to Institutional buildings, Commercial buildings and Residential complexes pan India Target of saving 1000 Crore Litres in 2023.

A tap which is installed on 1/2" water pipe may deliver water flow @ 15 litres per minute, whereas, with the water efficient fixtures, the water use in a basin for hand wash can be restricted to just 1.5 litres per minute. Number of uses multiply these water saving figures yielding mind blowing figures.

Working with MoHUA on Bharat Tap- An Initiative

Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri, Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs was the Chief Guest at PlumbexIndia 2022 held at New Delhi from 12th-14th May 2022. He launched "Bharat Tap-an initiative", to save water by using low flow fixtures and sanitaryware as per IS 17650 Part 1 and Part 2.

  • IPA is promoting "Bharat Tap-An Initiative" in all its programs including its conferences and events.
  • IPA is working with the Ministry to implement star Rating of Sanitary fixtures and Sanitary ware.
  • Indian Plumbing Association is also working with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs as an Advisory partner in Innovation Water Challenge under which 76 startups working in the water sector under AMRUT 2.0. have been awarded a sum of INR 2 million each.
